If you know anything about fashion at all, you know exactly who edgy model Birgit Kos is. Chances are, however, you’ve never perused a copy of Glamour or Vogue magazine, searching out runway pictures and glossy fashion ads—unless of course you were looking for nudity, a fashion staple, in which case Mr. Skin applauds you for the extra effort in seeking out the wayward nipple. A Dutch delight born in Overijssel in the Netherlands, Birgit is a graduate of Thorbecke Comprehensive School in Zwolle, and was once scouted twice in the same day while shopping in Amsterdam. She declined them, but later decided to go ahead and do the modeling thing. She started in Italy, and her first big runway gig was as the show-opener for Miu Miu’s Spring/Summer 2017 show. The rest, as they say, is history. The pouty-lipped catwalker has appeared on the covers of notable fashion rags like Glamour Italia and Marie Claire France, as well as the Italian, Japanese, German, Brazilian, Spanish, Dutch and American versions of Vogue magazine. With piercing blue eyes and dark blonde hair, she has a unique look that photographers and the general population can't get enough of, something Hugo Boss capitalized on when they signed her, along with actor Jamie Dornan, for a popular fragrance campaign. Chanel, Vera Wang, Tom Ford, Versace, Burberry, Calvin Klein, and dozens of other fashion houses and designers have booked Birgit to walk their runways and star in their advertisements.
