Amazing. Awesome. Alluring. All A-words, and all describe another A-word, actress Ashleigh Murray. This Kansas City cutie moved to the Big Apple after high school and graduated from the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts. Starting on the stage in several off-Broadway productions, she ventured into TV with NYC-filmed series, The Following in 2014, and Younger in 2016. The dark-haired diva’s first feature film was a star turn as Deidra in Deidra & Laney Rob a Train (2017), followed by the part of Loryn in the musical remake film Valley Girl (2020). But before there was music and dancing there was Riverdale, the hit CW series based on the Archie comics. Ashleigh earned the part of Josie McCoy, the eventual lead singer of Josie & the Pussycats, in the dark drama series from 2017-2021, where she gets naked down to her bra, and sometimes just a towel, in the girls’ locker room. She also reprised the role in the adjacent series Katy Keene in 2020, expertly playing the character for over 50 episodes in both series. Not one to just sit back and relax, the mocha-skinned sweetheart took her beauty back to the big screen for a big part as Gracie in the movie The Way Out(2022), starring Sherri Shepherd and Jonny Beauchamp, a fellow Katy Keene alum. Not bad for a girl who hails from the city known to have the most barbeque restaurants per capita than any other US city, and more fountains than Rome. (See, Mr. Skin is both fun and educational.)
