Born to an American father and a British mother and raised in the Baha’i tradition, Anisa George is an actress, filmmaker, and writer. Having studied Middle Eastern cultures at Barnard College and spent a significant amount of time in Iran, Anisa is fluent in both Persian and Arabic. Stateside, she produced and directed a feature-length documentary called Don Quixote of Bethlehem and volunteered with the Yemen Education Relief Organization, teaching photography and writing to child laborers, and with Broadway Presbyterian Church, running a homeless shelter for women. In 2008 Anisa made her cinematic debut alongside Best Actress nominee Anne Hathaway in Jonathan Demme’s critically acclaimed drama Rachel Getting Married, where she showed up in a skimpy t-shirt and panties. Hey Anisa, you’re not in Iran anymore, don’t bahide those bahooters!
