American Gods (2017-2021)

Based on the 2001 Neil Gaiman novel of the same name, American Gods began its dominance of the television landscape in late April 2017. The series focuses on Shadow (Ricky Whittle), a man whose dark past is about to catch up with him in unexpected ways. While returning home after the death of his wife (Emily Browning), Shadow meets a man named Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane) who seems to know an awful lot about him and his past. As a storm rages outside the plane, Mr. Wednesday gives an ominous warning that a much bigger storm is coming, and he'd better prepare himself quickly. While everything about this show is unconventional, the series' first nude scene was about as crazy as they come. Yetide Badaki plays Bilquis, the goddess of love who is living on earth and working as a prostitute.
