So refined and high toned is leggy New York-native Amanda Plummer that she might be easily misperceived as being British. The daughter of critically regarded thespians Christopher Plummer and Tammy Grimes, artfully bred Amanda began her career as a serious stage actress. Although she won two Tony awards for her live dramatics, Amanda eventually gave in to the allure of film and skin. Don't expect typical titty twisting. The best of Butterfly Kiss (1996) is one long lesbianic tryst, with Plummer's body wrapped in chains throughout. 8½ Women (1999) is distinguished by the odd fetishistic appeal of Amanda naked in traction in a hospital bed, the freaky fun of fully nude Plummer bathing a giant four-legged pig, and twin bouncing butts as our heroine bounds into the distance riding a big white horse. Hooray for artistic vision.
