When Ally McBeal was seen as the second coming of TV Christ, series creator David Kelley was churning out more new shows than I churn out human waste. In a bid to drill his golden egg-laying goose totally into the ground, Kelley put together unaired episodes of the Callista Flockhart-led show and mixed them in with various already aired non-courtroom scenes to create what he thought we’d suck up as a new show… We didn’t. It was gone inside a season and the full one-hour version of McBeal followed soon afterwards. I don’t know if anyone held an ‘end of series’ party when all was said and done but if they did, they wouldn’t have spent more than $0.38 on catering.BOOM! Callista Flockhart skinny joke!
