A Indomada

As you search around for information on this TV series, the first thing you notice is that, being as it was a Brazilian show, everything you find is written in Portuguese. So, not being the kind of guy that will let a small thing like not understanding a damn word of what I’m reading stop me, I decided to use one of the many online translation websites to help me decode the synopsis of the show. What I got back from the translator had me just as confused as what I read in the original language, so to hell with it - you figure it out. “Young Helena returned to the small city of Greenville, where it left to study in the Europe, to take ownership of the richness of the family Menezes and Albuquerque, who its uncle Peter Alfonso lost in a table of game for the outsider Teobaldo Faruk. The outsider was gotten passionate by Eulália, mother of Helena, a woman who had had a romance forbidden for the family with the humble Zé Leandro, a sugar cane cutter. Of this love Helena was born; but Eulália and Zé Leandro had died and Teobaldo promised the richness of the Menezes and Albuquerque the Helena when it reached the majority and returned to Brazil.” Got it? No? Okay then, here’s all you really need to know. Isabel Fillardis, the gal who got naked in the Brazilian feature film Orfeu, appears in this series. I don’t know what she does in the series, or if she gets naked in the series but she’s in it. So if you find yourself in Rio sometime and find A Indomada to be on the TV in your hotel room, you can pretend you’re an authority on Brazilian TV by turning to your travel-mates and saying “oh yeah, that’s Isabel Fillardis. She showed her cooch in Orfeu." Trust me, everyone will be totally impressed. Hey, don’t thank us, we’re just glad to be of service.Oh and if you want to know what A Indomada means in Portuguese, the ever helpful online translator tells me it means “The Indomada One”. So that should be pretty clear.
