A Classic Horror Story (2021)

Since the giallo movement, Italians haven't exactly been known for any pioneering innovations in the world of horror cinema, which might explain the cheeky title of the Netflix Original horror flick A Classic Horror Story (2021)! In an attempt to save money while traveling through the southern wilds of Italy, a group of five strangers carpooling together in a motor home have their vacation plans thrown for a loop when the driver swerves to vehicle to avoid hitting an animal and they end up crashing into a tree. Upon coming to, the group finds that the motor home and the road have vanished and they are suddenly stranded in a deep wooded area with no clue as to how they got there. The only signs of life anywhere near them are coming from a remote cabin in the woods where, unbeknownst to them, a cult has gathered to perform a ritual sacrifice for which they just so happen to need five victims. Now, this wily group of strangers including Elisa (Matilda Anna Ingrid Lutz), Sofia (Yuliia Sobol), Chiara (Alida Baldari Calabria), Fabrizio (Francesco Russo), and Riccardo (Peppino Mazzotta) must band together if they're going to make it out of this Classic Horror Story with their lives! While chills and thrills abound in this Italian horror flick, the spills are hard to come by, if you catch our drift! There is a sexy scene where Yuliia Sobol shows off her bikini body in a TikTok type of video on a cell phone, but the biggest element missing from this so-called "Classic" horror story is the nubile nudity! Come on, Italy, get it together!
