Things move a little too fast in Wimbledon (2004), with this film suffering from a ludicrous plot about faded champ Paul Bettany turning his life--and tennis game--around in a mere fourteen days. Of course, he’s motivated by cutie Kirsten Dunst, a bad-girl tennis star who shouldn’t be wearing virginal tennis whites. Coach Kirsten serves up motivational speeches such as, “Hit this one, and I'll sleep with you.” Hey, this movie suddenly makes perfect sense! Maybe things would’ve scored a lot better at the box-office if the commercials had emphasized less romance and more of Kirsten--especially in a shower scene that leaves Paul groping his balls and racket.
