This professional dancer from Washington, D.C. trained extensively at the Dance Theater of Harlem, Washington Ballet, Dance Institute of Washington, Duke Ellington School of the Arts, and the Conservatory of Dance at SUNY Purchase College and has cultivated a career in musical theatre on both stage and screen. Inspired by her nightclub singer mother, she also performs her own brand of hip-hop, soul, and jazz music under the stage name Rue Brown. You can spot Whitney working it on the dance floor in the 2007 film version of the musical Hairspray and the 2011 remake of Footloose, or theatre fans may have seen her performing in the first national tour of the musical Memphis.
