Adapted from a series of Henning Mankell crime novels, the Swedish crime series Wallander follows Kurt Wallander (Krister Henriksson), a maverick, philosophical detective operating in the melancholic town of Ystad, Sweden. With loneliness nipping at his heels, mounting health problems, and a less-than-happy home life, the titular investigate finds solace in tracking murderers, serial killers, and assorted sociopaths.
