Thelma (2017)

Unlike America’s female friendship flick Thelma & Louise (1991), the skinternational thriller has Thelma (2017) on her own. The production from Denmark, France, Norway, and Sweden follows the titular heroine (Elli Harboe) who is lonely and repressed due to her sheltered and religious upbringing. Once she moves to Oslo for school and meets classmate Anja (Kaya Wilkins), Thelma discovers her psychokinetic powers. Needless to say, many complications ensue including Anja’s mysterious disappearance. Luckily for us, the ladies’ clothes and inhibitions vanish too! Not only does Ms. Wilkins strut her stuff in an itsy bitsy teeny weeny bikini, Ms. Harboe duffs her duds to let a dude wash her. The skintastic scene lets us look at Elli’s bare breasts which are pair-fect. Another erotic scene has the alluring actress donning a white gown that gets wet which makes the fabric transparent. If that’s not arousing enough, Thelma and Anja reveal their lesbian tendencies when they swap spit during a Sapphic kiss. But just as Anja reaches into Thelma’s shirt, a snake appears to wrap around her neck before going into her mouth. Talk about a Freudian nightmare! Yet even with a serpent involved, we still get to glance at Elli’s panties. Granted, this sexy effect worked like a charm on the snake in Mr. Skin’s jeans. Apparently, it must have also worked on reviewers since the pic was named Best Foreign Language Film by the San Diego Film Critics Society, the Utah Film Critics Association, and the Houston Film Critics Society. Yee haw!
