The Element of Crime (1984)

After a decade-long sojourn in Cairo, police detective Fischer returns to Europe and his old stomping grounds. He hooks up with his old mentor, the author of a book called The Element of Crime, and is soon hot on the trail of a serial killer. Using his mentor’s theories and methods, he painstakingly retraces the killer’s steps through the urban jungle. Dark, somber, and thoroughly nihilistic, The Element of Crime (1984) is a chilling psychological drama with a horrific ending. Me Me Lai shows once again that she has the ripest coconuts this side of paradise, as she services a quite distraught cop.
