The Cook of Castamar (2021)

Based on the acclaimed novel of the same name by Fernando J. Múñez, the Spanish series La Cocinera de Castamar—or The Cook of Castamar—debuted on Netflix in the summer of 2021! Set in the early 18th century, the show follows an accomplished cook named Clara (Michelle Jenner) who is battling a severe case of agoraphobia right when she lands a big job opportunity that could help her advance in her career. The job entails preparing a feast for The Duke of Castamar (Roberto Enríquez), a benevolent leader who is hosting a party despite the fact that he's still reeling from the death of his wife nearly two years earlier. On the night of the big party, everything is going great but Clara is looking to escape from the overwhelming size of the crowd and stumbles upon the sullen Duke, who himself is attempting to escape his own party. This sparks a fire between them that, if left untended, might just burn down the entire kingdom. Can these two people, who have spent the last few years learning never to trust anyone again, finally begin the necessary steps towards building a life together? All will be revealed in The Cook of Castamar! This show is clearly serving up a feast of flesh, though it does take a few episodes to really get cooking! The debut episode features a lusty lesbian lip lock between Marina Gatell and Yuna Miralles during an orgy, while episodes seven and eight bring us back to back nude appearances from the lovely María Hervás! Talk about a feast for the eyes!
