In between the action adventures The Three Musketeers: The Queen’s Diamonds (1973) and The Return of the Musketeers (1989), came the swashbuckling installment The Four Musketeers: Milady’s Revenge (1974). This PG rated flick was actually made from extra footage shot during its predecessor pic released six months prior. But when the greedy producers only paid the cast for one movie, they were sued. The actors won their case and introduced what is now known as the Salkind Clause to ensure performers get properly paid for their work. Equally heroic are the fictional characters in this action movie. Set in 17th Century France, the saga sees Athos (Oliver Reed), Aramis (Richard Chamberlain), and Porthos (Frank Finlay) rescuing Anne of Austria (Geraldine Chaplin) and her busty dressmaker Constance Bonacieux (Raquel Welch) from the scheming villain Cardinal Richelieu (Charlton Heston). Along the way, Milady de Winter (Faye Dunaway) flashes her bare back when stepping into the bath to seduce Count de Rochefort (Christopher Lee). The femme fatale also sets her cap at Monsieur d’Artagnan (Michael York), who beds her servant Kitty (Nicole Calfan). As expected, the two babes later engage in a cat fight. Meowza! Richard Lester’s ensemble film also includes Sybil Danning, Jean-Pierre Cassel, Roy Kinnear, Simon Ward, and Ms. Welch’s well-endowed cleavage! Thanks to the period costumes, her tight corset has her breasts a popping! Forget about the Alexandre Dumas phrase, “All for one and one for all.” When we glance at Raquel’s ravishing rack,” it seems more apropos to say, “All for two, and two for all!
