Surface (2022-2025)

Sophie (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) is trying to rebuild her life in San Francisco with her investment manager husband James (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) months after she tried to commit suicide. The problem is she now suffers from a weird form of on-again-off-again amnesia and has to see a therapist (Marianne Jean-Baptiste) to hopefully remember why she tried to kill herself in the first place. Could it be it was less a suicide attempt and more of a murder attempt by someone else? The undercover cop (Stephen James) telling her she can’t trust her husband and the secretive nature of the couple’s BFFs (Ari Graynor and Francois Arnaud) seem to point to the latter. The past is still a mystery in the show’s second season that has her relocated to London to track down a British journalist she supposedly had been working with before her memory started fading. At least Gugu is keeping her body a little less of a mystery in season 2 when she steps into the bathtub, and we even get bonus cleavage from Millie Brady. Maybe that means will get to see what both ladies are hiding under the surface of their clothes soon!
