Picnic at Hanging Rock (2018)

The Australian Film Institute voted Peter Weir’s haunting depiction of Picnic at Hanging Rock (1975) starring Rachel Roberts as the best Australian-made movie of all time! Needless to say, that’s a tough act to follow. But decades later, Australia was ready for the television version. Like its cinematic predecessor, Picnic at Hanging Rock (2018) is based on Joan Lindsay’s same-named novel of 1967. Set in 1900, the small screen saga centers around three schoolgirls and a governesses who disappear without a trace on Valentines Day. If you’re still reading, then the costume drama will keep your interest amid its extensive runtime. In fact, there are a few firm reasons to sit through the six-part series. For example, it features Natalie Dormer, Sibylla Budd, Anna McGahan, Yael Stone, Markella Kavenagh, and the fine flesh on Lola Bessis. As Mademoiselle Dianne de Poitiers, the topless ingénue bares her side breast in bed. Merci beaucoup! To even things out, Miranda Reid (Lily Sullivan) exposes her derrière when Irma Leopold (Samara Weaving) and Marion Quade (Madeleine Madden) undress her in a different scene. The skintastic act must be contagious since both of the clothed women follow suit by flashing their asses to the camera too. In other words, they put the thrills into this thriller! Alas, the pretty performers of this period piece fail to expose any other pieces of their beautiful bodies. But just the thought of the nude cabooses on the Picnic at Hanging Rock women is enough to get Mr. Skin’s rocks off!
