According to the 1961 Oliver Reed movie Curse of the Werewolf, it’s an evil fate to be born on Christmas Day. But it doesn’t seem to have done any harm to Mabel King. After her debut in Melvin Van Peebles’s comedy Don't Play Us Cheap (1973), Mabel appeared as the busty Queen of Myrthia in the voodoo flick Ganja & Hess (1973). And no clothing can hold back this queen’s bountiful bosoms, causing Mabel’s right mam to slip out the side of her top and reveal a silver-dollar-sized nipple. Later Mabel went on to her most famous role as Mabel “Mama” Thomas on What's Happening!! from 1976 to 1978. Mabel’s long career also included appearances in cult classics like The Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars & Motor Kings (1976), The Wiz (1978), and The Jerk (1979). Sadly Mabel developed diabetes and died after a series of amputations in 1999. But the world won’t soon forget Mabel King, a true Queen.
