Daily Show alum Samantha Bee knows comedy, so as showrunner for the new TBS series The Detour she sought a wise-cracking, street-wise stripper for the April 2016 pilot episode--and picked Kimrie Lewis-Davis for the raunchy role. When star Jared Jones {Bee's beau} and Natalie Zea {a surrogate for Sam} take their kids on a road trip, they mistakenly "enter a strip club and see strippers writhing on poles," complains the conservative Parents Television Council, "and their daughter Delilah gets her first menstrual period in the strip club's restroom." She calls scantily clad Kimrie away from hustling patrons at pool, prompting the pissed peeler to pronounce: "Are one of you girls using the toilet stall as a babysitter again? Cuz if so, [club owner] Donnie's gonna flip." Fans flipped when they saw the ebony eyeful in her most revealing role--not counting the faux topless t-shirt she uses as her Twitter profile pic! "Dad's excited I'm on #TheDetour 2night," Kimrie tweeted her nearly 7,000 followers. "When I told him I'm playing Cinnamon, a stripper, he said, 'It can only get better from here.'" Things got better when comedienne colleague Marcella Arguello sent a shocked shot of Lewis-Davis with the message: "My face when I saw @iamKimrie half naked on my TV screen just now"--to which the black beauty replied: I (heart) this so hard!" Fans were so hard when Kimrie kissed a girl...and liked it...in the Tyler Perry film Peeples (2013): "We are totally undercover lesbians," she says of her Sapphic smooch with gorgeous girlfriend Kali (Bridesmaids) Hawk. "It was great! I didn't get to experience that in college so I'm glad."
