Bubbly, blonde, and golden-skinned, Jill Johnson was a natural to play the cute girl on the scene in late ‘80s, early ‘90s flicks. Starting out on TV, she appeared in The Dog Days of Arthur Cane (1984) for ABC Weekend Specials (when they used to run kids’ shows to entertain the little rugrats before the days of Netflix), then did a stint on L.A. Law in 1986. Switching to the big screen, she took a turn as Trixie in Party Favors (1987), a comedy film about strippers who deliver pizzas, then themselves—an idea that is inspired when Trixie’s top comes off during a delivery. Slow out of the gate, Jill’s next gig didn’t happen until two years later, when she landed the recurring role of Lori Alexander in the TV series Almost There! in 1989-1990, a teen drama about a dance show in California. Next up, she played Rachel Richards in Wildest Dreams(1990), starring probably no one you’ve ever heard of, but rated R for sensuality. For her next two projects, the starlet chose better-known company: She was the tennis court girl in Taking Care of Business (1990) with Jim Belushi and Charles Grodin (one of the first projects written by J.J. Abrams, later responsible for Alias, Lost, and Fringe); and a bystander in the TV movie Working Tra$h (1990) with George Carlin and Ben Stiller. But it was her role as Laurie in Party Plane (1991) that truly captured Mr. Skin's undivided attention.
