Das Boot director Wolfgang Petersen began a run of Hollywood hits with the Clint Eastwood vehicle In the Line of Fire (1993). Eastwood stars as Frank Horrigan, a veteran member of the Secret Service who is the only agent left in the service who was in Dallas when John F. Kennedy was assassinated, a fact which haunts him to this day. While investigating a missing persons case, Horrigan receives a phone call from a man calling himself Booth (John Malkovich, in an Oscar nominated performance) and informing him that he plans to assassinate the current President while he's out and about on his reelection campaign. Horrigan requests that he be reinstated to active duty protecting the Commander in Chief, obviously hoping to make up for his botched attempt at saving Kennedy. When reinstated to active duty, Horrigan falls for fellow Secret Service agent Lily Raines (Rene Russo) and begins a love affair with her which threatens not only both of their lives, but the life of the President of the United States as well. It's now a race against time to discover Booth's true identity, figure out what his plans are, and stop him before he's able to carry out his dastardly plan! If you're a fan of Rene Russo, you likely already know that she didn't make her nude debut until six years after this flick in The Thomas Crown Affair (1999). She does, however, show off some boffo cleavage in a plunging neglige as she lays in bed with Eastwood! Make sure to grab a tissue, because you don't want your computer screen to be In the Line of Fire... if you catch our drift!
