Get Millie Black (2024)

Created by award-winning novelist Marlon James from a short story he wrote, this crime drama centers on the titular Millie-Jean Black (Tamara Lawrence), who is a detective with Scotland Yard. She’s trying to solve the case of a missing girl, and the investigation takes her back to her hometown of Kingston, Jamaica, which she has not seen in twenty years. When she returns, she learns that her younger brother Orville did not die as she believed, but is now Hibiscus (Chyna McQueen), a trans sex worker who holds a grudge against Millie for abandoning her. Millie discovers her missing girl is just a tiny part of a much bigger criminal operation, but she still has time to have a muscular man-friend over for the night and strut around in her bra the next morning. Get it, Millie Black!
