When will the TV execs ever learn that films and foreign TV shows that are entrenched in cursing, sexual situations, drug use, and alcohol abuse generally do not make for good TV shows? I mean, Fast Times at Ridgemont High as a TV series? What were they thinking? Featuring such luminary comedy genii as Courtney Thorne Smith, Moon Unit Zappa, Patrick Dempsey, and Vincent Schiavelli, it’s not much of a surprise that this series died on the vine. The formula for failure here is simple – no wet, naked Phoebe Cates, no ratings.
