Dr. Kildare

One of the great-granddaddies of the TV Doctor Show genre, Dr. Kildare centers on a young intern (Richard Chamberlain) and his struggles as an aspiring doctor. Raymond Massey plays his devoted mentor, while the background is freckled with all sorts of colorful characters (several of whom are very attractive ladies). As to be expected, one doesn’t stay an intern forever, though Kildare’s education seemed to last considerably longer than that of a real doctor. Quaint today, but actually one of the real trailblazers in the genre of TV medical drama.
