Proving that not all Texas massacres involve chainsaws, Dawn of the Crescent Moon (2015) follows five college students traveling to a small town in The Lone Star State to research the Legend of Blood Lake, an obscure wives' tale inspired by events surrounding the slaughter of a Comanche village by a band of Texas Rangers in the 1800s. Missing person reports from the area continue to mount, giving rise to tall tales of evil spirits who protect a sacred cache of gold lying beneath the surface of the lake. Despite the obligatory warning from the resident old guy, these not so savvy kids decide they're going to find that gold, even if they have to swim naked all night! Michelle Ellen Jones is an especially dedicated gold digger, showing her beautiful breast stroke in the generous moonlight, her icebergs skimming the surface of the water. When an eager swimmer tries to get frisky, she sends him down to the bottom, promising to walk his plank if he finds her treasure. He rightfully points out she is the treasure, but goes searching nevertheless. Then we get a few more seconds of Jones' jugs before she gets pulled under by an unseen force. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted!
