In the late 60s German TV film Christoph Kolumbus oder Die Entdeckung Amerikas (1969), Christopher Columbus is portrayed as a poor son of a weaver who falls under the charm of Queen Isabella to go out and seek new opportunities for money making, so as to fill up the empty Spanish treasury. The queen sends out a financial inspector with Columbus, who will run the ship the Santa Maria. Once he gets to the New World, he finds it all to be completely bizarre and foreign to the point of horror. That is, until he sees the enticing selection of women.

Hannelore Elsner plays a native dancer. She’s painted in some light purple body makeup and is dressed in a very revealing outfit, which includes a spiraled and glittered bra. She tries to swoon Christopher, who seems to be very accepting of her advances. Seems they forgot to mention these very important parts in the elementary school stories.
