Candid Camera

This show’s gone through about 8 different incarnations since its first appearance back in 1948 but the schtick’s been essentially the same all this time: one poor schnook gets teased, duped, or humiliated in some way. Quite often the humor focuses on a double entendre, some subtle innuendo, or a shapely blonde. More often than not the subject would delight in his own humiliation; sometimes they’d actually get pissed. Sure, it’s simplistic humor all the way, though compared to Jackass I’d call it a bona fide masterpiece.
