Bryggeren

Two generations of beer brewers try to keep the peace between their professional and personal lives in Bryggeren (1996). JC Jacobsen (Jens Jørn Spottag), the man responsible for industrializing the beer industry, established his brewery, Carlsberg, in 1844 on the outskirts of Copenhagen. The brewery was named after his son Carl Jacobsen (Søren Sætter-Lassen), who JC assumed would one day take over the family business. But the father and son don’t see eye to eye, and Carl starts his own brewery in 1882.This long mini-series is a period piece, but the historical hooters of Birgitte Simonsen make it all worthwhile. She strips down to show off some hefty hangers and historically accurate hair pie in a bedroom scene. And that’s sure to give your beer can a nice frothy head!
