BMF (2021-2025)

BMF, or Black Mafia Family, is a Starz series from the mind of Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson which debuted in the early fall of 2021. The series is loosely based on the true story of two brothers from Detroit who rose from the ashes of crippling poverty to form one of the most powerful and influential crime families in the history of the mafia within the United States. The charismatic but ruthless Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory—played by his real life son Demetrius "Lil Meech" Flenory Jr.—combines his streets smarts with the cunning business acumen of his younger brother Terry “Southwest T” Flenory (Da'Vinchi) to eventually transcend the world of small time drug dealing and branch their business empire out into other avenues, with a particular interest in the world of hip hop. Over time, the brothers become gods in their hometown of Detroit and put their fear into anyone who would dare double cross them by valuing family above all other things. This makes them a formidable crime empire throughout the 90s, whose influence continues to be felt in the world of crime and hip hop to this very day. Taking its cue from The Godfather (1972), the series aims to be a scathing indictment of capitalism viewed through prism of organized crime. The show also gets off to a skinsational start when, in the debut episode, we get the series' first nude scene!
