Belascoaran, PI (2022)

Set in 1970’s Mexico, this Spanish-language series tells the story of Hector Belascoaran (Luis Gerardo Méndez), a former cog in the corporate machine who upends his life to become a full-time private investigator. His story is told through back-and-forth jumps in time between this and his appearance on a Mexican reality show as he tries to solve his very first high-profile case. An obvious take on Sherlock Holmes, Belascoaran has a trio of people as his Watson-like support, an seeming addiction to a Mexican cola, an adversary who spouts riddles, and a love interest with a checkered past - that last role filled by spicy Mexican tamale Paulina Gaitan. Paulina’s sexy striptease and skintimate train scene are the answers to the mystery of what’s making your pants tight. Case closed!
