Becoming Male in the Middle Ages (2022)

A festival favorite from Portuguese filmmaker Pedro Neves Marques, this short form drama focuses on two couples, heterosexuals Mirene (Isabel Costa) and André (Zé Bernadino), and gay couple Vicente (Neves Marques) and Carl (Nuno Nolasco). Both couples are struggling to have a biological child, and in this world Vicente can undergo an experimental procedure that plants an ovary in his body from which ova will later be extracted and sent through a regular IVF via surrogacy, a choice which Mirene has a hard time supporting. She and André are still trying to conceive the old fashioned way, which means a nice post-sex peek at Isabel’s beauteous boobs in bed. Oh baby!
