Back to the Future

Robert Zemeckis apparently directed this animated reworking of the Back to the Future movies, which explains how they got Christopher Lloyd and Bill Nye The Science Guy to film the live action bumpers before and after commercial breaks. But those bumpers don’t make up for the pretty sorry middle sections that never seek to achieve anything more than be just good enough to stop you changing channel. Of course the whole series went quickly to video so parents could be yelled at to buy them all. A blatant cash grab that isn’t made any less disheartening by the voiceover presence of Dan “Homer Simpson” Castellanata and Mary “Oscar winner” Steenburgen.
