American Dreamer (2019)

When you watch the news and you hear about ride-share drivers going bananas and kidnapping and/or murdering people, you usually just assume that person is deranged.  In American Dreamer, you practically feel like you're not just in the backseat of the car during a ride-share with a psycho, but you might actually be tied up in the trunk with duct tape over your mouth! In this indie thriller we follow Cam (Jim Gaffigan), who is severely struggling financially, so he's picking up extra work as a driver on HAIL, a popular ride-share app, but even the classic hustle for some extra money can't get Cam out of his dire money problems.  One day, he gives a ride to a young and sharp dressed guy, Mazz (Robbie Jones) and witnesses him collect on some drug money with some strong-arm tactics.  Mazz offers Cam $200 a day to become his full-time driver to jobs like that, as long as he can keep his mouth shut and work as his wheelman, he doesn't have to worry and he can collect his two bills.  Minor financial problems solved, right?  Wrong... Because Cam gets the idea in his head that he make ALL of his money problems go away overnight, if he just kidnaps Mazz's son and holds him for ransom.  It's a sharp turn to the dramatic and dark for comedian Jim Gaffigan in this indie flick, but it's the stunning Isabel Arraiza who is going to give you whiplash in this ride-share gone wrong with her bra busting cleavage!  Definitely buckle up, but it might not do you any good!
