A five episode misfire that dealt with a former suicidal drug addict, Hannah Miller (Patty Duke), who had turned her life around and decided to become a minister. Her children are mixed about the idea, with her son (Justin Garms) digging it but her daughter (Marguerite Moreau) going the other way entirely. And of course there’s the usual problem with the church Deacon (Robin Gammell) who thinks there’s no place in the church for ex-junkie Hannah. Noteworthy perhaps only because it’s the only production ever shot in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Amazing Grace took nearly six months to finally play out it’s first five episodes, getting shunted around at will by the network. It probably deserved such a fate, TV series’ don’t get much more cookie-cutter than this.
