Hailing from a family of well-known musicians (mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, etc.), Brazilian babe Amanda Magalhães was a shoe-in to become famous in some form of entertainment or another. Born in Rio de Janeiro, she started studying both piano and voice at the age of nine, and got her first official piano at the age of 15. When her parents divorced, she moved to São Paolo with her dad William Magalhães, the leader of the well-known and well-liked musical group Banda Black Rio (her grandfather Oberdan Magalhães was the leader before him). Amanda thought to be a composer, but somewhere along the way, discovered acting, and attended the University of São Paolo Drama Arts School. While performing in a play, the director asked her to sing a Billie Holiday song, she got good reviews for her performance, and the wide-smiled starlet decided, “Why choose?” and didn’t, pursuing a career in both music and acting. As a singer, the enchanting entertainer released a series of singles leading up to her debut album Fragma in 2020.
