The Venice Film Festival is in full force. After debuting this weekend, the festival continues all week with highly anticipated films. Some of these films even have highly anticipated nude scenes! Let's talk about the hot stars and their hot scenes at the Venice Film Festival.
The most notable film with nude scenes is Olivia Wilde's Don't Dorry Darling which stars Florence Pugh and Harry Styles who have a really steamy sex scene. Headlines were buzzing about this sex scene between the two and the rather nebulous fact that the film did not use an intimacy coordinator. Intimacy coordinators are now the standard procedure and allegedly the lack of one pissed Pugh off (so much so that she won't really speak to Ms. Wilde anymore). I'm fascinated and curious about what they ended up with in this tabloid-worthy film that premiered over the weekend!
Netflix's Blonde is going to premiere at the festival, too. Cuban actress Ana de Armas stars in the highly anticipated film that has been years in the making. Based on the novel by Joyce Carol Oates (emphasis on novel), the feminist telling of Marilyn Monroe's life shocked everyone when it was slapped with an NC-17 rating.
While both director Andrew Dominik and Armas herself expressed confusion over the rating, stating that TV shows like Euphoria are much more graphic, we here at Skin Central could not be more excited about this fascinating take on Marilyn's life. At least we know that we are guaranteed nudity. If the NC-17 is a true indication, we are about to see A LOT of sex. Hey, it's Marilyn Monroe. She was THE sex symbol. Should we expect anything less?
Other films that are premiering at the festival include White Noise directed by Noah Baumbach. It, of course, stars Greta Gerwig who has never had an issue going nude before. Critics mostly enjoy the film, which includes a performance by the stunning Jodie Turner-Smith, but it does not seem that there is much hype about the Netflix film so far.
Joanna Hogg's latest film, The Eternal Daughter, is set to premiere at the festival. Starring Tilda Swinton, a mother and daughter return to their old home which has now been converted into a hotel. They deal with their past (sort of the plot of all of these movies in a way) and grow closer together in this film set to premiere today which Hogg has stated is one of her most personal films. Hogg hasn't disappointed us yet!
Tár is an epic film starring Cate Blanchett and Noemie Merlant. According to director Todd Field, the part of the female orchestra conductor was written specifically for Blanchett and the film would have never been made had she said no. I love Cate and Noemie, so I personally have high hopes for this combo of hotties.
Finally, a film worth mentioning is Monica which boasts a truly star-studded cast of talented and beautiful women who have all gone nude before. Trace Lysette, Emily Browning, and Patricia Clarkson all star in this drama about a woman who returns home after several years away to deal with her mother's illness as well as her own trauma. It sounds like an intense drama - it also sounds like one that will afford a few hot scenes. I wouldn't object to seeing any of those babes naked!
