Based on the Witi Ihimaera novel “Medicine Woman”, the emotional drama White Lies (2013) follows Paraiti (Whirimako Black), a medicine woman, a healer, and a midwife to the small population of a rural town in New Zealand. Everything is going swell until some bureaucrats propose and pass a new law that prohibits unlicensed healers from practicing their medicinal art. When Paraiti makes a rare trip to the city, she crosses paths with Maraea (Rachel House), the servant of the wealthy Rebecca (Antonia Prebble), who is in need of the medicine woman’s knowledge and assistance in order to help hide a secret that Rebecca desperately needs to hide to maintain her favorable position in society. The life of someone is resting on the uncovering of this secret, but the maintaining of this secret can be fatal to another. Something tells us that the word “secret” is code for pregnancy. But what does Mr. Skin know? Well, he does that the petite and sexy Antonia Prebble bares her left breast in one scene and her right one in another, sort of giving us a pieced together look at her impressive rack. Thanks to Prebble, the lies won’t be the only white thing you’ll have to worry about!
