The Dark Red (2018)

No, The Dark Red isn't a new marketing campaign for Big Red chewing gum with extra dark red flavor. Instead The Dark Red (2018) is a film that preys upon every new mother's most primal fear: What if your newborn baby was not only kidnapped, but kidnapped by an ancient society intent on harvesting the child's supernatural blood. I mean, what expectant mother hasn't had a shiver run down her spine at the possibility of that scenario playing itself out in the first few of days of her child's life? It's really surprising that it took them until the year 2018 to mine this age-old premise for a horror flick, but the wait was more than worth it as the film delivers on that knockout premise! April Billingsley plays Sybil, a woman who meets a mysterious man at her mother's funeral and soon falls in love with him, eventually ending up pregnant with his child. The film jumps back and forth in time between this story and one in which Sybil is institutionalized and telling a skeptic psychiatrist that her baby was indeed stolen by a secret society to harvest the child's supernatural blood. Man, what a tough break for Sybil, she meets the guy of her dreams but it turns out he's an agent for a secret society intent on doing this all along. While the lovely April Billingsley doesn't go nude in the film, we do get to see her rocking a sexy bra with some captivating cleavage in two separate scenes in the flick!
