The ABC sitcom Rodney stars stand-up comic Rodney Carrington as a salt-of-the-earth sort who has a horrible job that he can stand only because of the happy life he's made with his hot wife, Jennifer Aspen. Raising their two kids while dreaming of making it big, this couple puts up with visits from Jen's man-eater sister Amy Pietz, Rodney's unlucky-in-love best bud Nick Searcy, and a prying parent or two. Their goal is to eventually get ahead and get Rod a job in the stand-up world, but we'll never know if they made it to the promised land, as, in 2006, Rodney got canned.
