Proud (2018)

The 2018 French miniseries Fiertés, or Proud, chronicles the life of one family over three different time periods: 1981, 1999, and 2013, all of which are crucial in the fight for gay rights in France. The 1981 election of socialist president Francois Mitterrand gives the series' main character, Victor (Benjamin Voisin) the strength to come out to his family. 18 years later, the legalization of domestic partnerships for same sex couples prompts Victor, now played by Samuel Theis, to attempt to adopt a child with his longtime partner Serge (Stanislas Nordey). Finally, in the third episode, the now adult son of Serge and Victor, Diego (Julien Lopez), must reconcile with his upbringing with two fathers in the shadow of the legalization of marriage equality. Way back in the first episode, before our protagonist knows he's gay, he does a bad job in bed with Lou Roy-Lecollinet, who bares her breasts and briefly her buns for her efforts, but it's not quite enough to get him going! It's not you, girl, it's him!
