Parched, a film festival debut written and directed by Leena Yadav, is about the liberation of four women in the rural Indian town of Gujarat. Rani, Lajjo, Bijli, and Janaki all face intense repression, some through childhood marriage, some through abuse, and some through prostitution, and they all realize that they have the power to run away, both literally and figuratively and make something more of their lives. The lovely ladies liberate themselves from their clothing, too - Surveen Chawla plays an exotic dancer who shakes it on stage in bellydancing outfits, while Radhika Apte bares her boobs during an awesome cave sex scene. Parched will leave you with a puddle!
