The difficult to pronounce but easy to admire Mechthild Grossmann got her first gig on Werner Fassbinder’s celebrated mini-series Berlin Alexanderplatz in 1980, and the raven-haired German gal parlayed that experience into a solid career on the small and silver screens. You might recognize Mechthild’s lovely looks from features such as The Complaint of an Empress (1990) or Nowhere in Africa (2001), but it was Verführung: Die grausame Frau (1985), a.k.a. Seduction: The Cruel Woman, that had us reaching for the bratwurst, mainly because Ms. Grossmann delivers the dairy donuts half a dozen times!
