Philadelphia-born, blackalicious babe Jill Scott aka "Jilly from Philly" rose from the city of Brotherly Love to take both the radio airwaves and Hollywood by storm. The golden-voiced vixen went to Temple and planned to be an English teacher when she stated performing spoken word poetry, eventually transitioned to singing, and became a three-time Grammy Award winner. Other than her own music videos, a few theatrical productions and an episode of Sesame Street, Jill made her acting debut with a recurring role as Donna Williams on the UPN comedy series Girlfriends before moving on to appear in the music-related films Cavedweller (2004) and Hounddog (2007).
