Cordelia started her acting career out in her native Puerto Rico in 1985’s La Gran Fiesta, but she quickly moved on to Hollywood in an effort to land some better parts, which she most certainly did. Her first notable appearance in American cinema was in 1988’s Homeboy, which led to parts on episodes of The Equalizer and Law & Order. Her acting talent having been well-established at that point, Cordelia was then tapped to play a hooker in the Tom Cruise blockbuster Born on the Fourth of July. The movie features a tender scene between the two, which shows Cordelia in all of her full-frontal glory. The movie is a classic as it is, but that scene alone makes it worth watching.
