Suburban Wildlife (2019)

Adulthood may be right around the corner, but the recent high school graduates of Suburban Wildlife (2019), but their last summer together is going to be one for the record books. This Australian dramedy covers well-trod ground but there really can never be too many "one last hurrah before childhood ends" type movies. A quartet of friends, Nina (Maddy McWilliam), Louise (Hannah Lehmann), Alice (Priscilla Doueihy), and Kane (Alex King) decide to distract themselves from the encroaching reality of adulthood by basically dropping out of any societal responsibilities. At the end of the summer, Louise will be leaving to attend college in London, so as a last ditch attempt to get a proper sendoff from her closest friends, she devises a plan to take a trip through the rugged rural areas of Australia. The film is meant for anyone who never wanted those good times to end. Everyone who stared down the face of adulthood and decided to linger forever inside that glorious moment before it began. Everyone who has ever had to say goodbye to a good friend while trying to hold onto all of the great memories and not let them get bogged down in sadness. This is where Suburban Wildlife hangs its hat. Maddy McWilliam's Nina has a tender but brief lesbian love affair with Daniela Haddad's Flora, while Hannah Lehmann spends some screen time in a skimpy bikini! The SKIN.V.P. as it were, however, is Priscilla Doueihy, who briefly bares her right breast while having sex with a guy in bed! We're definitely a fan of this wildlife!
