Sounds Like Love (2021)

The Spanish Netflix original film Fuimos Canciones, or Sounds Like Love (2021), follows fashion design assistant Maca (María Valverde) as she rebounds from a disastrous breakup with Leo (Álex González). Thankfully her best friends Adriana (Susana Abaitua) and Jimena (Elisabet Casanovas) are there to help pick up her spirits and get her back on her feet. They help instill in her a sense of confidence that might just help her not only move beyond Leo, but also move beyond the abusive fashion influencer she works for, despite being substantially more talented then. Just when things seem like they're moving in the right direction and Maca will be able to get on with her life minus Leo, the notorious cad comes crawling back to her in hopes that she'll take him back. All the horrible memories and self destructive thoughts she'd managed to lock away in Leo's absence are brought to the surface once more and Maca must decide if Leo is really worth all the headaches, hassles, and dips in her own self esteem are worth it if she takes him back. Needless to say, love is a complicated emotion and the things we do in the name of those we love often unlock the worst parts of ourselves. While both María Valverde and Susana Abaitua have gone nude before on film, neither babe takes it all off here. We do get a tantalizing threesome between Susana, a dude, and Claudia Galán, who bares her buns during the sexy encounter, but sadly that's the extent of the skin in this flick. Sounds Like Love sounds like a disappointment to us!
