Ferry (2021)

No Nudity

Review

The Dutch do love themselves a prequel to a beloved crime series and they cooked up a doozy with Ferry (2021), a prequel to the hit show Undercover! The title is also the first name of main character Ferry Bouman (Frank Lammers), the largest ecstasy kingpin in Belgium and The Netherlands. Set in 2006, the film finds Ferry at the start of his criminal career working for Ralph Brink (Huub Stapel), then the biggest ecstasy dealer in the region, setting up the conflict to come which we know—obviously—ends with Ferry on top of the game. A substantial portion of Brink's gang are killed during an ambush, including Brink's own son, so Ferry is sent to find the gang responsible. All trails lead Ferry back to the small town of Brabant, where he grew up and also where he hasn't set foot since he was a teenager. Though he's certain to find the men he's looking for in town, he's also likely to see a much larger number of men and women he hoped he might never see again! One person he comes across after not having seen her for a very long time is Danielle (Elise Schaap), a girl he fancied growing up, but whom he never really took the plunge with. Having reconnected with her for the first time in a long time, Ferry must also reconsider what he's doing with his life, personally and professionally. Of course, fans of the show will know that these two end up married, but we do get to see one of their first hook-ups, though Elise Schaap keeps her bra and panties on! Catch the next Ferry over to something with some skin!
