Sound of Metal (2020)

Sound of Metal (2019) is a drama about a hardcore drummer in a punk-metal band. His name is Ruben, played by Riz Ahmed, and he is in a rising punk band. However, his life suddenly and drastically changes when he starts to experience hearing loss. Now he is at a crossroads where he has to choose if he should preserve the hearing that he has or keep playing for all its worth. He ends up living in a home for the deaf to save his life and to learn how to communicate without hearing. This slower pace of life leads to him accepting the changes happening to his hearing as he finds a new purpose in life and starts to figure out ways that he can still be true to himself even if he can no longer hear. This is a beautiful, moving movie with a lot to listen to as the film shows us various kinds of sounds and silences to tell the story of Ruben's hearing loss. That being said, there is also a little bit of something for us to look at, too. Dani Miller shows up in a bikini top to sell merch after one of the band's shows. She wears an orange bikini top that shows off slight cleavage as well as her long and lean torso and skinny, tattooed arms. She is a mulleted mama who looks like a punk rock princess in this silly scene that briefly introduces us to the sight of this metal maven.
