The rom com Baby Boom (1987) comes to us from former husband and wife creative team Charles Shyer and Nancy Meyer, and stars Diane Keaton as career driven management consultant JC Wiatt, whose whole persona—as a working woman in America—is built around intimidation. She lives a happily childless life with her longtime boyfriend Steven (Harold Ramis) until she gets word that a distant cousin has died and left JC her infant daughter, Elizabeth. When JC can't bring herself to put Elizabeth up for adoption, she decides to make a go of it as a working mom, except that Steven was happier in their child free days and makes the decision to pack up and leave. When being a mom begins to become more and more time consuming, JC begins to make crucial errors at work, leading her to be fired. She decides to move to her family's home in Vermont with Elizabeth for a fresh start and soon meets the ruggedly handsome doctor Jeff (Sam Shepherd) and begins moving her life in an entirely new direction. So, to recap, career driven woman adopts a baby, baby refocuses woman's priorities in life, woman decides she's happier as a mom and wife than a career gal. Got it! No wonder this flick was such a hit! While there's no nudity in the flick, there is a sexy scene where SNL's Victoria Jackson plays one of the litany of nannies hired by Keaton throughout the film's first two acts and she is caught in her bra in some sort of sexcapade when Diane comes home from work!
