The teen sex show always makes headlines because they usually tackle some pretty extreme topics. Unlike other teen dramas, sex and relationships seem to be at the center of these shows. This ain't the CW - these shows go the extra mile!
Degrassi
Degrassi walked so that all of these other shows could run. The Canadian teen drama was much more of a soap opera than these other series and while it explored a lot of dramatic themes surrounding sex, it did not really show us that much skin. Degrassi was monumental for also hiring teen actors and having teens consult on storylines (something that the next show would also do). While there wasn't much nudity, we did watch Lauren Collins explore her bisexual side when she made out with Deanna Casaluce. Talk about a sexual awakening!
Skins
Skins is the show that broke the mold. This wild British series went where Degrassi did not go and it showed us teens - played by barely legal (and sometimes teenaged) actors - doing hard drugs and having hard sex with one another. They had A LOT of sex and they did a lot of drugging and drinking. These teens were out of control!
Skins launched the careers of SO many famous actors today including Kaya Scodelario and Hannah Murray. From wild sex to drunken one-night-stands and true love, Skins was as high-octane as any teen show could get (until, of course, Euphoria).
Sex Education
Much like Skins, Sex Education takes a look at sex in high school. However, Sex Education is much cheekier than Skins. Skins had funny moments, but Sex Education is an actual comedy. The show follows the life of a virginal high school nerd whose mom is a sex therapist [played by the gorgeous Gillian Anderson. Together with the most popular girl in school, they open a "health clinic" to teach teens about safe sex in their rural English town.
Aimée-Lou Wood bore her breasts in the very first season when she got on top of her man for a hot scene. If you ask me, these teens already know a lot about sex!
Genera+ion
The point of teen sex shows is to relate to their generation and that is what the HBO series Genera+ion aimed to do for Gen Z. Identities, sexual orientations, and passions are all being explored in this series that is actually low on nudity. That being said, there are plenty of scenes that feature some of today's hottest stars getting lezzie in their bras. Euphoria
Finally, we can't talk about teen sex shows without giving praise to Euphoria. Euphoria is one of the most popular and influential shows on the air currently and its stars are the It stars of the moment from Sydney Sweeney to Zendaya. Euphoria is a lot like Skins in that the show wrestles with much harder topics like drug addiction, abuse, gender and sexual identity, complicated and toxic relationships, and more. Gees, when do these girls have time to do their homework?!
It feels like their homework is to take off their tops if Sydney and Hunter Schafer are any indications. I think these girls all get A+!
